The Health & Human Service Academy and
Because Houston Loves You are collaborating to promote Healthy Baby Begins with
You, a campaign to provide health education, resources, and community outreach
to promote this important initiative to reduce the infant mortality rate in
Houston.
SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome affects
the lives of thousands of babies across the state of Texas. Research shows that
Black babies infant mortality rates are twice as high as those of the general
population. Our campaign focuses on intervention and prevention. SIDS and sleep
related causes of death are preventable and the
Healthy Baby Begins with You health promotion campaign to educate, inform,
and provide resources for mothers to prevent Infant Mortality is the goal and
objective of
Houston Teen Moms' Baby Closet & Pantry.
The Office of Minority Health (OMH), of the Department of Health and Human
Services, is launching A
Healthy Baby Begins with You -
a national campaign to raise awareness about infant mortality with an emphasis
on the African American community - as one of our efforts to end health
disparities among racial and ethnic minorities
